  2. String Telephone Learning objectives Waves properties • To describe how sound travels through different media. • To identify the waves properties • To model and analyze a string telephone. • To develop a model of waves to describe patterns in terms of amplitude and wavelength and that waves can cause objects to move. waves properties Wavelength Frequency Amplitude Speed Waves

  3. The Material • 2 paper cans • piece of string (about 2 feet, or 30 cm) • 1 small nail

  4. Conclusion Hypothesis We think that the string must tight very will to heard our voices . How does it work? 1- Make hole in the bottom of each can. 2-Then put the string in each hole and fix it . We learned that sound is made up of vibrations sound waves that we can hear. The sound of your voice vibrates the can this causes the strings to vibrate. Sound is mechanical waves that travels through medium as a wave. When you make a string telephone, you talk into it causing the bottom of the cup to vibrate and that vibration travels along the string to the other cup where they can hear the sound of your voice coming out of their cup.
