  1. Computer time line By Britny Thompson

  2. Mainframe computer • A data processing system employed mainly in large organizations, for various applications. Made by Douglas Enelbart in 1950’s

  3. Minicomputer • Somewhere in between a mainframe and a microcomputer is a minicomputer. Made for small and mid sized businesses who need more power and memory that can be obtained with provided by mainframes. Made by Perkin Elmer and Gould SEL, in 1976.

  4. Microcomputer • A compact and relatively inexpensive computer, with less capacity and capability then a minicomputer consisting of microprocessor and other things. Made by Steve Wozniak on January 23, 1976.

  5. The First Computer • In. the 1500’s Leonardo Da Vinci invented the first mechanical calculator which is also technically a computer

  6. 1614 upgrade • In 1614 John Napier invented a system of movable rods that was able to multiply, divide and calculate square and cubed roots.

  7. 1814 upgrade • In 1884 Dorr. E. invented a comptometer which was operated by pressing keys.

  8. 1938 upgrade • In 1938 Konrad Zuse created the ZI computer, binary digital computer using pureh tape.

  9. 1351 upgrade • The first business computer was made by Raymond Thompson and John Simpson.

  10. 1969 upgrade • In 1969 Seymour Cray made the first super computer. Which was CDC 7600.

  11. 1970 • First RAM ( Random Access memory) chip and microprocessor. Made by Intel.

  12. 1976-1977 • Apple made apple computers and apple 2, first personal computer with color graphics is demonstrated, by Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs.

  13. 1985 • Dell releases it’s first computer the, “ Turbo PC”

  14. 2001 • The first IPod is invented with 5-10 GB of storage and 10 hours of battery life.
