INTRODUCTION • Approximately 50% of the United States population lives along the coast while 90% of all hurricane related deaths occur along the coast from storm surge. • There is also a growing number of people who are fascinated with hurricanes, and want to find out more about them. More and more of these people are going to the Internet for their information. • With more and more people living along the coastline, or interested in learning more about hurricanes, it is important to have reliable information to keep them aware and prepared for an approaching hurricane.
