Miss Harper’s Newsletter September What We’re Learning: Reading and Language: This month your child is learning their letters and sounds, alphabetical order, rhyming words, nouns, pronouns, and naming parts of book. We will also begin reading fairy tails and folk tales and begin sequencing the story in order from beginning, middle, and end. Writing: Your child is learning to label pictures and is developing an understanding of the writing process. Math: In math we are working on counting to 30 and will soon move to 60. We are also working on composing and decomposing numbers in order to prepare them for adding and subtracting. Science and Social Studies: In science we are learning about mass and how objects can change shape. In social studies we are focusing on community helpers and authority figures. We are also learning about jobs and why they are important. Our Schedule: Monday: Specials: PE Tuesday: Specials: Music Computers ST Math Wednesday: Specials: PE Thursday: Specials: Music Library ST Math Friday: Specials: PE on the 1st and 3rd Friday and Music on the other days.
