  2. Bass • Bass are actually a species of sunfish • Large/smallmouth bass • The best two ways to tell the difference between the two is the large mouths mouth extends past the eye and the small mouths does not and also the small mouth has a re d eye

  3. Sunfish • The rest of the sunfish consist of crappie, bluegill, all the sunfish and rock bass • All of these fish look almost the exact same with slight color variations. • They prefer deep open water.

  4. Catfish family • Catfish are bottom feeders • The catfish family also consists of the bullhead witch are usually much smaller and have a bright yellow belly. • Catfish can get much bigger weighing up to 50 lbs compared to the bullheads record of 3 lbs

  5. Perch family • There are 5 species of perch that live in Michigan lakes but the yellow perch and walleye are the two most common • Yellow perch are the main food from the lakes.

  6. Salmon family • Trout are actually a species of salmon • The brook trout is Michigan's state fish • Salmon and trout are most commonly found in spring fed streams • Chinook salmon are the largest of the salmon family and have a silver color

  7. Pike • The pike family consists of the northern pike, muskellunge(Muskie),tiger Muskie and the grass pickerel • Pike are carnivores with sharp teeth • Live in deep cold water
