Presentation Goals • Introduce Marzano’s Teacher Evaluation Model • How strategies are organized • How rating scales will be used to rate teacher practice • What will the observation form look like • Outline our district training plan • Study Marzano’s 8 elements related to helping students interact with new knowledge • Uncover questions teachers have about the new evaluation system to bring to the DEAC

  5. iObservation Evaluation Tool • Web-based platform for providing feedback and recommendations • 4-point rating scales • Elements that are observed during an observation will be given a rating of 0-4 • Elements that are not observed will not be given a rating • A summative rating will be calculated based on the cumulative ratings over the course of the year • Narrative comments will be added as appropriate • more detailed feedback on specific elements • general feedback • recommendations
