They will have to write about • what they think they would see from the moon and how they would feel.

After drawing the map, • the students will be asked to research the web to find other presidents from • Ohio and put them on the map as well.

  16. Inventors Continued -born in Millville, Indiana in 1867 - born in Dayton, Ohio in 1871 • Both Orville and Wilbur Wright created the first • powered flight in history in 1903. • They built their own engine. • In 1905, they built the first practical airplane • “Wright Flyer III”

  17. Activities Read: • The Wright Brothers by Lola M. Shaefer • The Thomas Edison Book of Easy and Incredible Experiments Video: The Wright Brothers at Kitty Hawk The Students will be put into group of 4 or 5 to perform 2 of the experiments from the selected book. They will each make a story of their own inventions.

  18. Final Activity On Day 4 the students will be asked to choose a famous inventor, president, woman, or an astronaut from Ohio. They are to research this person on Day 4 during class. On Day 5, the student will be required to present their report to class. Along with the report the students will be required to write a story from that persons point of view and dress up as that character as best as possible. The students will read their story as the person they have chosen.
