  11. ABOUT THE GOVENER Governor Ted Stickland is the son of a steelworker and the only of nine children to attend college. He gained a Master of Arts degree from University of Kentucky and a doctorate in psychology. His political career includes winning a seat in Congress before winning the Ohio gubernatorial election in 2006. He also has delayed the executions of three people on death row. Finally, he is trying to increase jobs by bringing ethanol plants and other alternative fuel source companies to Ohio.
