  2. Les Verbes pg. 176-77 • Conjugate the verbs in French that you hear in English. Use the verb parts in the envelopes provided. • Now practice conjugating the verbs with white boards and dice. The first person to conjugate the verb correctly wins a point. • Match the English translation to the French translation of the verb on the large index cards. Give the match to the teacher and sit down.

  3. Stem Changers • We prefer- nous préférons • I drink-Je bois • We drink- Nous buvons • They pay(fem)- Ils paient • You pay(plural) – Vous payez • Let’s buy!- Achetons • She buys – Elle achète • They drink (masc)- Ils boivent • They did drink (fem)- Elles ont bu • He prefered – Il a préféré

  4. Le Choixd’Articles • Choose a teacher in your group of four people. • Teacher will teach article choice to students by following the script provided. Be sure to show the visual aids as you teach. • Students will take notes IN THEIR OWN WORDS based on the following questions. Allow the teacher to copy your notes when he/she is done. • Summarize your understanding of article choice in two or three sentences on the index card provided.

  6. Notes de Grammaire-Choixd’Articles • Be sure you have answered the following questions in your notes: 1.Which two verbs are followed by a definite article? 2. Which expressions are followed by a partitive article? 3. Which article is used when the noun is the subject of the sentence? 4. When do you use le/la/l’/les in the specific sense? 5. What is the difference between un/uneand du/de la/de l’/des?

  7. Jeux • 1. Write the appropriate article on your whiteboard based on the picture shown and the article given in English. • 2. Combien de fautes? -Rewrite the sentences correcting any mistakes in your journal. Show each sentence to the teacher before you move onto another sentence. 3. Les Courses • You and your partner have 12minutes to fill in the correct article based on the context. • 4. Traduction. • -Translate the following sentences into French on your whiteboard. Take turns with your partner. You get 2pts for a perfect sentence, 1pt for one mistake, and 0 points for more than one mistake.

  9. Closure • What did you learn today? • Write a few words and sentences on the post-it note to summarize what you learned today. • Stick the post-it note on the door on your way out. Have a fabulous day!
