This document explores various proposed reforms to the electoral system, focusing on different methods of electing the President. It details the District Plan, which allows for electors to represent both major candidates, and the Proportional Plan, ensuring a fairer distribution of electoral votes. The possibility of a Direct Popular Election is considered, where voters choose the President directly, highlighting concerns over smaller states' representation. Finally, the National Bonus Plan is discussed as a compromise that retains the electoral college while integrating popular vote elements.

Proposed Reforms pgs 345-347 KJ,RC,MM,MP,SC,TF,ML
District Plan • Electors chosen in each state • Two electors will be chosen that will cast their electors vote. • Arguments –Loser of popular vote could still have a chance of winning electoral vote.
Proportional Plan • Each president candidate will receive the same share of states’ electoral vote and will get rid of the winner-take-all problem. • Argument-Will not produce the same results nationally
Direct Popular Election • Get rid of the electoral college system entirely and let the people vote directly for the President. • Winner will always be the majority or plurality choice. • Argument- smaller states are over represented by electoral college
National Bonus Plan • Keep the same elector will be based al college system but will be based upon the popular vote
