  1. Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) Program

  2. What is a HRA? • A Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) is an account funded by Troy University health insurance premiums that will reimburse you for eligible medical expenses not otherwise insured. • You are eligible to receive benefits in your second plan year of Troy University health insurance. • It covers you and your dependents, such as your spouse or child.

  3. How Does It Work? It’s easy! • To earn HRA funds, a beginning balance of $1,500 for family coverage or $750 for single coverage is reduced by your claims paid during your first year on the health plan. • Each time a covered employee or dependent has a prescription filled, visits the emergency room, or visits a physician, the portion paid by the Troy University Health Insurance Plan reduces your HRA balance. • New employees or employees enrolling in the Troy University health plan after January 1st of each year will have their HRA contribution prorated based on the number of months remaining in that year. • 75% of any amount not used during the plan year will be carried forward into your HRA for use during the next year.

  4. How Does It Work? • Employees will be notified of account balances. • Each year that you are enrolled in the health insurance plan, you will have the opportunity to accrue monies to add to your HRA for the next year.

  5. How Does It Work? • Once HRA funds are available you should call TASC at 1-800-422-4661 to request your Personal ID. Then you may create an account at www.tasconline.com to file for reimbursement.
