The Mobile Data EXPLOSION • Key Facts: • Global mobile data traffic grew 81 percent in 2013 • 2013 mobile data traffic ~18x the size of the entire global Internet in 2000. • 2000: One exabyte of traffic (1 EB = 1 Billion GB) • 2013: 18 exabytesof traffic. • Mobile video traffic >50 %for the first time in 2012 • 53% of traffic by the end of 2013. How do we deal with the influx of mobile data traffic???
