  3. 3D win 4(Converts MLCAD files to AutoCAD) • First click Import to select correct MLCAD file Click Import.

  4. Importing MLCAD Drawings • Select All Files (*.*) from Files of type • Allows user to see the MLCAD file • Select the correct file • Click Open

  5. Saving the file to AutoCAD • Once file opens, conversion is in process • Appears on the left • Save file by clicking Export Click Export

  6. Saving AutoCAD files • Select Autodesk ASCII Mesh File (*.dxf) from Save as type • Type in the File name and click Save

  7. Open DXF files • Locate file and double click it • From list of applications, select aclt

  8. Scaled Model • When the drawing is first opened, it is too large

  9. Rescale the model • Type “scale” in the command line.

  10. Rescale the model • Enter “1” to specify base point • Enter “1/200” to specify scale factor If necessary, change scale factor to print on 8.5”x11” page • Rescaled model

  11. Change colors of the model • Use ctrl+A to select all points of the model • Choose the desired color of model

  12. Hide Details of the Model • Enter “hide” in the command prompt Before using hide command After using hide command

  13. Different 3D Views • Model can be seen from different views • ChooseView, 3D Views, then choose any view from the list. Left side of a model

  14. 3D View Point • Select View, 3D Views, then VPOINT • VPOINT allows user to see x-y-z coordinate system to rotate the model

  15. Conclusion • MLCAD is used to build a robot virtually • 3D Win 4 converts MLCAD to AutoCAD • AutoCAD shows all details of the robot in 3D
