Join Troop 2 for an exciting campout at Lake Evans near Santa Monica. This adventure includes canoeing and enjoying the scenic beauty of Buena Vista Aquatic Recreational Area. To reach Lake Evans, take the San Diego Freeway (I-405) north to the Golden State Freeway (I-5) and follow the directions to Coles Levee Rd. and Enos Lane. Approximate distance from Santa Monica is 110 miles. Experience nature, camaraderie, and plenty of outdoor fun with fellow scouts!

  1. Troop 2 Santa Monica Lake Evans Canoe Campout N Taft Hwy (Hwy 119) Enos Lane GOLDEN STATE FWY (I-5) Map Not to Scale Union Rd. 3 mi All Mileage is Approximated Lake Webb/ Lake Evans Bear Mtn. Blvd. (Hwy 223) 4 mi Coles Levee Hwy 99 I-5/Hwy 99 split To Hwy 223/ Bear Mtn.Blvd.: 22 miles Wilshire Blvd./I-405 over Grapevine to I-5/Hwy 99 split: 80 miles From Santa Monica to Webb Lake: -Take the SAN DIEGO FWY (I-405) north to the GOLDEN STATE FWY (I-5) north. -Go over the Grapevine to the split for I-5/Hwy 99. IMPORTANT: Follow signs for I-5. -Take I-5 approx. 22 miles to the exit for Hwy 223/Bear Mountain Blvd. -At the end of the offramp turn LEFT. -Go approx. 4 miles to where the road ends at COLES LEVEE RD. -Turn RIGHT on Coles Levee Rd. The road curves left, becoming UNION RD. (don’t worry: this affects nothing), and dead-ends at ENOS LANE. -Turn LEFT on Enos Lane. Go approx. 1 mile to the Buena Vista Aquatic Recreational Area. We’re using Lake Evans. TOTAL DISTANCE: APPROX. 110 MI.
