  2. 1966 is where it all started…….. • 1966 – LC Research and Development Group of Varian was formed • LC Development and Innovation took place every 1 to 3 years. • In the early years this was mainly by product development • In later years this has been mainly by acquisition

  4. History of Varian HPLC Products • 1968 – Varian purchased LC Division of Picker-Nuclear (Dedicated Nucleotide Analyzer, LCS-1000, 254 nm UV detector. • 1971 – Model 4200 Gradient Elution Chromatograph (syringe pump), Variscan Scanning UV Detector (Techtron – Melbourne)
