  6. Tryout Group Formation Process Equally balanced tryout groups (equal percentages of ranking profile groups in each sub-group) Equally balanced subgroups of Blue and White skaters within a tryout group Skating order that presents players skills to evaluators without bias to prior skill level

The Evaluation Process • Scripted plan for each day • 5 evaluators and 2 on-ice coaches • High level of hockey experience • No relationship to tryout candidates permitted • Skills and Senses Evaluated • Skating: Speed, Acceleration, Strength/Stability, Transitions, Backward Skating • Skills: Stickhandling, Passing, Shooting • Hockey Sense/Tenacity: Play w/o the Puck, Aggressiveness/Desire, Wins Puck Battles • Separate Goalie Evaluation • Not Evaluated: Positional Play in a 5v5 environment • Lowest Score Thrown Out • Averages totaled and players ranked by score after days 1 and 2 to create pools • Pool Groupings – Days 3 and 4 (same process as above)

  8. Tryout Overview 2014-2015 – Squirt A Team Selection DAYS 3 & 4 DAYS 1 & 2 A Team Top 15 rated skaters and top 2 rated goalies after Day 4. A Pool Top 24 skaters and top 4 goalies from Days 1 & 2 Group 1 Quarter of skaters & all goalies B Team Selection *Schematic based on 3 teams per level; brackets & numbers adjusted for 4 or more teams Group 2 Quarter of skaters & all goalies NOTE: B teams will be an even dist’n of the 9 skaters and 2 goalies from the A Pool that do not make the A team and the top 32 skaters and 4 goalies from the B Pools Bracket A Top 6 rated skaters; 2 selected by coaches to each team at the B level Group 3 Quarter of skaters & all goalies B Blue Pool Equal distribution into 2 pools of skaters and goalies not selected for A Pool Brackets B thru F Next 6 highest rated skaters; 2 selected to each team Bracket G Remaining ranked skaters eligible for each level; equal # selected to each team B Gold Pool Equal distribution into 2 pools of skaters and goalies not selected for A Pool Bracket H Top 6 rated goalies; 2 selected to each team Reassign Final Player Rankings Groups created by distributing players based on prior level experience. All groups are equally weighted. Two equal subgroups in each group (Blue and White) C Team Selection *Same general process as above, but with 3 skater brackets and a single goalie bracket.

(dress codes enforced) • Let the process happen and be a positive influence on your son or daughter • Don’t stress – it’s contagious • Let the kids have FUN! • When: • Goalies: Monday – 20th • Skaters and Goalies – Tuesday, 21st – Sunday, 26th

  11. Team Creation, Notification and 1st Practice Team selection – Sunday, October 26th Final teams posted by the 28th Coach notification Practice starting shortly thereafter
