  16. Membership Recruitment Strategies • Increase club publicity and literature, i.e.; yearbook, annual report of activities to clear up any misconceptions, additional use of the local shoppers guide. • Place Rotary Pamphlets and materials in members business as well as in places such as the chamber etc. • Develop a CD or brochure that promotes the club. • Invite more prospects to participate in Club projects as means of encouraging them to join. • Watch for new hires in local businesses that appear in the newspaper. • Follow up with former members to encourage them to rejoin Rotary.

  17. Retention of current member strategies: • Develop a 90 day checkup for new members to determine their experiences to date and address concerns (if any). • Follow up with absent members perhaps sending a note that they are missed. • Ask all members new and old to participate in club activities and projects. • Get new members involved in a committee and project upon joining. • Establish a formal mentoring program for all new members.

  18. Membership Retention • Prepare an exit interview document for those that leave the club but still reside in the community. • What is the member’s perception regarding the cost of dues vs the value received? • Invite potential new members to attend several club meetings so they are better informed about Rotary and what the club is doing in the community. • Need more social and fun events for members to balance our project work.
