Safety audit – analyses of traffic accidents • Basis: • Traffic accidents (TA) records from 2005 – 2008, Police of the Czech Republic • Unified traffic vector map • Comparison of number and consequences of TA during 2008 and 2009 • TA from 1/2007 to 3/2010, localization, cause, consequences • Process: • Identification of accident localities • Accident localities inspection (examination, photo-documentation) • Proposal of measures leading to safety increase • Prioritization CIVITAS Forum l27-29 September 2010 l Malmö lIng. Safety audit – accident localities • Discovered and assessed total of 37 localities • 1. degree of seriousness • High level of relative accident rate, • considerable personal consequences of TA, • accelerated remedy performance necessary. • 2. degree of seriousness • Medium level of relative accident rate, • Medium personal consequences of TA. • Most of discovered shortcomings can be removed by low-cost measures or by uncompromising maintenance. BYPAD • Accident rate of cyclists is monitored within the city but is not utilized for problems’ removal. • One of the problems with evaluation of an accident rate with cyclists’ participation, is restricted cooperation with local department of the Police of the Czech Republic in Ústí nad Labem (impossibility to obtain details of accidents – accident plots) • Necessary traffic education as a prevention • (at schools, arranged by the Municipal Police and BESIP) Generel dopravy • 7. září 2010 • Ústí nad Labem
