INSPIRATION: theopneustos PROFITABLE: ophelimos 2 Timothy 3:16 (NKJ)All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, DOCTRINE: teaching REPROOF: conviction – the truth beyond dispute CORRECTION: setting something straight INSTRUCTION: the process of training a child 2 Peter 1:20-21 (NKJ) 20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, 21 for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

God promised Abraham that “in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” (12:3) Through the birth of Christ – direct descendant of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Judah – God fulfilled this promise as well. In this way Abraham’s “seed” has indeed blessed all the nations of the earth. Abraham Abraham’s descendants were promised to be a great nation (12:2) God fulfilled the promise in the birth of Isaac and then Jacob, through whom the 12 tribes of Israel were born. Ishmael Isaac Esau Jacob (Israel) Reuben Simeon Levi Judah Issachar Zebulun Gad Asher David Naphtali Joseph Dan Jesus Christ Benjamin Joseph’s sons Ephraim and Manasseh became 2 of the tribes.
