This engaging experiment demonstrates how sound travels through different mediums using three glasses. We filled one glass with water, another with ice cubes, and left one empty. By tapping each glass, we observed the differences in sound. Additionally, we utilized a slinky to illustrate longitudinal waves, showing how sound propagates through various materials. This hands-on activity effectively teaches the principles of sound wave transmission in a fun and interactive way, making it ideal for students and science enthusiasts alike.

SOUND WAVES Experiment
Filled the second glass about two-thirds full with the ice cubes.Left the third glass empty.
Tapped the empty glass by giving it a flick with your finger.
To demonstrate how the sound is traveling , we tapped our glasses, and used the slinky by stretching it out and give one end a push or shake.
The wave that travels the slinky from one end to the other demonstrates a "longitudinal wave", which demonstrates how sound travels.
