  1. Conditions & Restrictions We acknowledge that one of our primary goals is education. We also acknowledge the need for qualified employees in the field of construction accounting and finance. These needs will largely be filled from graduating students of our area schools. We hope these scholarships will prove to be an investment in the field of construction in the Dallas/Fort Worth area by providing promising construction professionals with some financial assistance while completing their studies. The Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) has established a Scholarship program to award Scholarships to qualified candidates. Previous recipients are eligible to re-apply in any semester that they qualify, but a new application must be submitted each time (limited to 2 awards). No scholarships will be granted for summer or abbreviated semesters. The applicant must satisfy these requirements in order to be considered for the scholarship: BULLENTIN - NOTICE • Requirements • Be a graduate from a Dallas/Fort Worth area high school or attending a local area college or technical school. • Have maintained a grade point average of 3.00/4.00 (in college or technical school) • Must have completed at least entry level accounting, finance, business or construction-related classes. • Demonstrate a relationship with CFMA, TEXO or American Subcontractor Association via a letter of recommendation from any member (other than an immediate family member). Letter should show applicant’s relationship to the construction industry. • Preference will be given to candidates that are majoring in Accounting or Finance; however candidates in other fields of study may still be considered for a scholarship award with Board approval. • Procedures & Rules • Scholarships are given twice a year: During the April and October meetings. • Scholarships are given in $1,000 increments unless the Board votes to change that amount. • A scholarship recipient can only receive a scholarship two times (assuming they apply, have met all the requirements upon each application, and have been approved by the scholarship committee). • Scholarship applications should be received no later than March 15th and September 15th. • The scholarship committee reserves the right to deny any applicant if they feel they do not meet the requirements. • Scholarships are limited to the amount and number by a decision of the board on a yearly basis. • All Applicants will be considered equally without regard for race, creed, religion, ethnicity, or sex.
