  2. Montana Human Trafficking Task Force MT DOJ’s Division of Criminal Investigation participates with our Federal partners for a coordinated response to incidents of human trafficking. Will provide support to instructors for continued training to public safety officers and prosecutors in Montana which has been impacted due to sequestration.

  3. Montana Law Enforcement Academy Provides training to every Basic Academy law enforcement officer regarding human trafficking. • Definition • Indicators • Victim centered approach • Resources available

  4. Montana All Threat Intelligence Center Conduit for intelligence sharing and monitors human trafficking reports as they affect Montana.

  5. The Bakken • No formal reports of human trafficking; anecdotal reports only • Increased awareness training planned for Eastern Montana law enforcement • MHP adding 5 more Troopers to the region • DCI increasing agent presence in the area

  6. Possible indicators • Living with employer • Poor living conditions • Multiple people in cramped space • Inability to speak to individual alone • Answers appear to be scripted and rehearsed • Employer is holding identity documents • Signs of physical abuse • Submissive or fearful • Unpaid or paid very little • Under 18 and in prostitution
