Mission Statement • To enforce the law and defend the interests of the United States according to the law; to ensure public safety against threats foreign and domestic, to provide federal leadership in preventing and controlling crime, to seek just punishment for those guilty of unlawful behavior, and to ensure fair and impartial administration of justice for all Americans

  3. Strategic Goals • Goal 1: To prevent terrorism and promote the Nation’s Security • Goal 2: Enforce federal laws and represent the rights and interests of the American People • Goal 3: Assists state, local, and tribal efforts to prevent or reduce crime and violence • Goal 4: Ensure the fair and efficient operation of the Federal justice system

  4. 1st group: conducts all litigation on behalf of the United States in the Supreme Court 2nd group: in charge of Community Oriented Policing Services, bankruptcy, alternative dispute resolution, and crimes against women 3rd group: civil rights enforcement, to act as community peacemakers when tensions are high 4th group: acts as an executive legal advisor and coordinates all agencies within the department 5th group: protects Americans from all forms of threats, whether foreign or domestic. 6th group: manages the department Mission of the Agencies

The Bureau of Prisons (BOP) is in charge of prison employees who focus on inmate issues concerning the transition from the free world into prison life Formulate programs to reintegrate prisoners back into society after they have completed their sentence Assesses inmates by interviewing and screening in order to determine which prison facility is most effective Bureau of Prisons

FBI • FBI has broad range of activities • Protecting America from terrorists attacks and foreign intelligence operations. • Keep surveillance on people, or groups of interests. • Helps federal, state, local, and international partners combat major white-collar criminals and significant violent criminals, as well as organized crime and cyber crime
