  21. My Favorite Mystery Books • Sharmat, Marjorie. Nate the Great and the Tardy Tortoise. Il. by Marc Simont. xz (series) Nate’s dog Sludge sniffs out the clues in this tale of a flower-eating turtle. • I like the Nate the Great series because the characters are like kids that I now. They seem like people that I would like to do things with. I like the way they look for solutions of their own for problems that they see.
