-AR Verbs. Infinitive. An infinitive is the most basic form of a verb that has not been conjugated. It always has “ to ” before it (i.e. to talk, to work, to study, etc.). -AR Verbs. -AR verbs are verbs, or action words, that end in “ AR ” in the infinitive.

  2. Infinitive • An infinitive is the most basic form of a verb that has not been conjugated. • It always has “to” before it (i.e. to talk, to work, to study, etc.)

  3. -AR Verbs • -AR verbs are verbs, or action words, that end in “AR” in the infinitive. • Like “To talk” - “Hablar”

  4. How to conjugate • Conjugating a verb is when you take the infinitive and change the endings to match each subject.

  5. How to conjugate • Steps: • 1. Take the infinitive • 2. Drop the -AR ending • 3. Add the new ending

  6. Terminaciones - Endings Nosotros -amos Vosotros -áis Ellos -an Ellas -an Ustedes -an Yo -o Tú -as Él -a Ella -a Usted -a

  7. How to conjugate Comprar - to buy X 1. Take infinitive: Compr 2. Drop the -AR: 3. Add the new ending: • yo compro - I buy • tú compras- you buy • él compra- he buys • nosotros compramos- we buy • vosotros compráis- you all buy • ellas compran- they buy
