INTRODUCTION • Occupational Health Nurses (OHN) are important members of the multidisciplinary team in OHS • A need of general knowledge in various fields of OH and working life • No common European training model: different training models across European countries • Specific training highly recommended • This presentation compares training programmes of occupational health nurses in France and in Finland

  3. AIMS OF THE PRESENTATION • Identify and assess the education programmes of OH nurses in France and in Finland • Clarify the existing situations • Improve or optimise both programmes

GENERAL TRAINING OBJECTIVES • Capable of situating oneself in the working environment, understanding the legal, organisational, economic and relational factors • Capable of identifying and assessing health risk factors related to work • Know, understand, identify and assess interrelations between work and health • Contribute towards identification and evaluation of individual and collective health needs and to health promotion and education in the work environment • Capable of using acquired competencies in multidisciplinary team

  8. TRAINING MODALITIES / France • Length of training : 2 years (16 months) • Weekly sessions (1 week every 4-6 weeks) • Practical training: • 2 weeks for experienced nurses • 3 months for others • Total working hours : 1412 • Teaching Hours: 702 • Personal working hours : 710
