  2. Primary objective To establish a single domain site http://www.undergroundcoal.com.au/ to provide coal mining industry with the necessary information on underground coal mining via the World Wide Web. • Targeting 31st March 2009 as “Go live”

Attributes of undergroundcoal.com.au • Maintenance of the coal mining industry’s “body of knowledge” of practices, procedures and experiences. • Resource database of best practice workshops and conferences, mine sites, OEMs, researchers and developers, universities, government departments and inspectorates and industry publications. • Availability of dynamic hyperlinks to: • proceedings of current and past best practice workshops and conferences; • national and international websites to provide additional sources of information. • Means of informing: • the industry’s roadway development key performance parameters, as well as positive/adverse factors which affect mines productivity. • The wider community on improvements and innovations adopted by the coal mining industry. • “Technical note page”, thus providing opportunity for industry personnel to share their experiences with others.
