  4. How in this Generation: Do we show commitment?? • Give me a List of at least 5 things that signifies a couples commitment to one another? (not referring to dating) • Is it the same as it once was? How has it changed?

Marriage what is it? • A lifelong commitment which bonds someone legally and emotionally in a union resulting in a intimate and mature way. • Marriage (also called matrimony or wedlock) is a socially or ritually recognized union or legal contract between spouses that establishes rights and obligations between them, between them and their children, and between them and their in-laws.[1] The definition of marriage varies according to different cultures, but it is principally an institution in which interpersonal relationships, usually intimate and sexual, are acknowledged. In some cultures, marriage is recommended or considered to be compulsory before pursuing any sexual activity. When defined broadly, marriage is considered a cultural universal.

  6. Adjusting TO Married Life • Brainstorm all the activities a new couple have to embark on when they decide to marry: • Wedding • Choosing a place to Live • Sharing their plans with Friends and Families • Sharing Values– (do we want children and when do we want to start trying?)

  9. Marriage and Divorce • Divorce Rates in Canada are on the Rise– Nearly 40% of Marriages end in Divorce • Divorce can have negative and positive changes • The trick is to not take blame in the situation—Children are not the reason Parents end marriages.
