  3. Responsibilities of the IURC • Regulates 800 Utilities • 394 cases filed in fiscal 06-07 • Regulates companies with a revenue stream of $12 billion

  4. Role of IURC

  5. Statutory Role • To balance the interests of both the Customer and Utilities. • Assure companies provide adequate service at a reasonable price.

  6. How others view the IURC • Rated by Lehman Brothers #3 • Regulatory Research Associates rate us as a “Top Tier” Commission • Harvard study cites Indiana as the basis for a model regulatory mechanism for approving new electric generation facilities
