  2. About Cook Campus • As you can see Cook Campus is a computer-lab based program. We have four classrooms, an administrative office, and restrooms. Teachers at Cook Campus include, Mr. Gabrielsen (Social Studies & P.E.), Mr. Jones (Math & Science), Mr. McCullough (Language Arts/English), Ms. Hanson (Read 180 & Novels), and Mrs. Fults is our administrator. • Cook Campus is a unique program that has been designed to serve students working toward high school completion with the ultimate goal of earning a diploma.These students will be working on classes offered through the web-based program Novelstars. • Cook Campus also provides preparation for those students who have decided to earn a GED Certificate. These students will take locator tests, receive tutoring and guidance toward web-based preparation sites, and will be assisted in various other ways toward the completion of their goals.

  3. Program Expectations • Our expectations and consequences apply to all students, both high school completion and GED students. Cook Campus expectations are that all students will maintain a 92% attendance rate (only missing school one day every two weeks) and work steadily towards completion of their course work. • Failure to meet the expectations may result in removal from our program. The high demand for placement at Cook Campus makes it essential that students make the most of their time!

  4. Levels • All students, diploma and GED, will be placed on a level system which is reviewed every two weeks. The levels are based on attendance, academic progress, and behavior. Students receive campus privileges based on their level. If a student drops to level 1, they will have a consultation with the administrator to problem solve and will be given two weeks to raise their level. If they fail to raise their level after two weeks, they will be placed on probation and parents/guardians will be notified that if the student’s level is not raised within two more weeks, they will be removed from their existing program

  5. Level 4: Leadership • 90% of attendance= 1 day absent/ per 2 week period • Behavioral incidences - 1 warning-0 incidences • Academic Standard - 30 or more submissions per 2 week period (Full-Time) • Academic Standard - 20 or more submissions per 2 week period (Half-Time)

  6. Level 3: Self Directed • 80% of attendance= 2 days absent per 2 week period • Behavioral incidences - 1-3 incidences • Academic Standard - 24-29 submissions per 2 week period (Full-Time) • Academic Standard - 14-19 submissions per 2 week period (Half-Time)

  7. Level 2: Learning • 70% of attendance= 3 days per 2 week period • Behavioral incidences - 4-7 incidents • Academic Standard - 20-23 submissions per 2 week period (Full-Time) • Academic Standard - 10-13 submissions per 2 week period (Half-Time)

  8. Level 1: SOS • 60% of attendance= 4 days absent per 2 week period • Behavioral incidences - 8 or more incidences • Academic Standard- 19 submissions or less per week (Full-Time) • Academic Standard- 9 submissions or less per week (Half-Time)

  9. What is a Behavioral Incident? • Incidences are breaking school rules • Major incidences, such as being caught skipping school, are automatic lower level

  10. Classroom Expectations • Respect everyone at all times. Disrespectful behavior will be tolerated. • NO profanity will be used. • Respect all facilities and equipment. Be responsible and clean up after yourself! • NO hats will be worn in the building. Take them off before you enter the building. • Be on time and prepared with a positive and cooperative attitude every day. • Under no circumstances are students to enter other classrooms without permission. • Please sign out if you need to use the restroom. • No food or drinkother than water will be allowed near the computers. • Musiccan be played only if you and you alone can hear it (personal headphones required). • Cell phones are to remain silent and invisible. Phones should be turned off or in vibrate mode and in your pocket. No ring tones, answering calls, or text messaging in class. • Students will enter and leave through the main doors. • Students are to go directly to and from their class session and should refrain from loitering around the exterior areas of the property. • NO Smoking or tobacco products.Cook Campus is part of the McMinnville School District property. The property includes the Cook Campus main building, areas inside the chain link fence and areas surrounding Cook Elementary School. We do not want to see big groups of students anywhere with smoke visible.

  11. Failure to Meet Classroom Expectations • The right to learn and succeed is essential to the success of everyone involved in the program, and infringing upon this right will not be tolerated. Because we care about the success of our students, we will not hesitate in exercising any of the following consequences if a student is responsible for disrupting the learning environment. Potential consequences are as follows: • Verbal warning or reminder of classroom expectations • Parent phone call to discuss disruptive behavior • Conference with teacher and parent • Referral to administrator • Conference with administrator • Level adjustment • Removal from Cook Campus Day Program.
