  3. Can Animals have the same Rights as Humans? • No: They cannot exercise rights • Speech • Religion • Equality • They do not choose how to live, they have to adapt. • They are not self conscious, they do not see themselves having a past and future.

  4. Can Animals have the same Rights as Humans? • Yes: Because… • They feel pain and suffer • They show excitement, and experience feelings. • Happy • Sad • Humans who are born ill are still given rights even if they cannot express them. • Children are given rights even if they are not self conscious of it.

  5. Hunting and Trapping is Unnecessary • People argue that we don’t need to harvest our food by hunting and trapping • Grocery stores • Meat plants • Farmers • Hunting and Trapping is not a humane way for animals to die. • Humans have an unfair advantage. • Tree stands • Blinds

  6. Why Hunting is Wrong • "Sport hunting is a violent form of recreation that has left countless animals maimed, and orphaned animals vulnerable to starvation, exposure, and predation. This activity disrupts natural animal population dynamics and has contributed to the extinction of animal species all over the world...” (Peta.org). • Animals suffer painful deaths, when injured by hunters. • Many animals are never found by hunters. • Hunting is a dangerous sport.

  7. Hunting has cause and could cause animals to become endangered or extinct. • Trophy hunting for certain things that animals possess. • Antlers • Elephant tusks • Hides • Unethical Hunters.

  8. Unethical Hunters & Overgeneralizations

  9. Why Trapping is bad • Trapping is mainly used for the fur industry. • Millions of fur bearing animals are slaughtered every year. • Individual trappers • Fur factory farms • Fur factory farms are cruel and upsetting. • Mistreatment of animals • Lack of space for animals • Non Targeted animals are killed.

  12. There are many hunter arguments of why it is good… • Harvesting animals is better then letting them starve • It’s a tradition • Bonding experience • The meat is better to eat then your regular red meats • Hunters argue that eating wild game is no different then eating food bought in the store. • Beef • Chicken • Turkey
