  7. PROMOTE ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS THRU e-LEARNING ESTABLISH e-LEARNING STATUS AND GAPS HARMONIZE e-LEARNING INTERVENTIONS BY VARIOUS STAKEHOLDERS IN THE ENV.SECTOR. CO-ORDINATE, HARMONIZE AND SYNERGIZE e-LEARNING INTERVENTIONS BY VARIOUS STAKEHOLDERS IN THE ENV. SECTOR. DEVELOP RESOURCE MOBILIZATION PLAN TO SPEARHEAD AND ASSIST IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF e-LEARNING MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS ON APPROPRIATE POLICY GUIDELINES TO MAINSTREAM E-LEARNING IN THE ENV. SECTOR TO LEVERAGE e-LEARNING FOR TRAINING AND CAPACITY BUILDING AMONG ENVIRONMENTAL STAKEHOLDERS PROMOTE ADOPTION OF E-LEARNING AS A MANGEMENT TOOL IN ALL DEPTS AND STAKEHOLDERS. CARRY OUT ANY OTHER TASK THAT MAY BE ASSIGNED BY THE PS FROM TIME TO TIME. MeLDC OBJECTIVES

  8. PARTNER MEMBERS IDENTIFIED AND CO- OPTED. E-LEARNING WORKING GROUPS HAVE BEEN ESTABLISHED. WORK PLAN FOR 2009-2010 HAS BEEN DEVELOPED. MeLDC e-LEARNING WORKSHOP FOR MINISTRY SENIOR STAFF APPROVED BY THE PS (JULY 2009). PS HAS BEEN BRIEFED ON REGULAR BASIS. e-LEARNING SECRETARIAT UNDERWAY. MeLDC ACHIEVEMENTS

  9. FUNDING FROM AGRICULTURAL SERVICES COORDINATION UNIT FOR THE e-LEARNING PROPOSAL TO TRAIN PROVINCIAL ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITTEES AND DISTRICT ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEES. SUPPORT FROM UNEP AND UNESCO. CONSULTATIVE MEETINGS HELD ON REGULAR BASIS. E-LEARNING IS IN THE AGENDAOF THE MINISTER AND PS. GOOD WORKING PARTNERSHIP WITH THE KeLC. MeLDC ACHIEVEMENTS

  10. LIMITED FINANCIAL RESOURCES. LACK OF e-CAPACITY IN E-LEARNING TECHNOLOGY. LIMITED STAFF WITH CAPACITIES ON COMPUTER SKILLS. INADEQUATE OR LACK OF INFRAESTRUTURE AND CONNECTIVITY. EXPENSIVE INTERNET SERVICES. CULTURAL ATTITUDES AND MINDSET TOWARDS E-LEARNING. INACCESSIBILTY TO COMPUTERS/INTERNET INEFFICIENCY OF TRAINED STAFF. POOR UNDERSTANDING OF THE CONCEPT OF E-LEARNING BY STAFF. MeLDC CHALLENGES

  11. KEEP THE MINISTER AND PS INFORMED OF THE DEVELOPMENTS OF THIS INITIATIVE. DEVELOPMENT OF PROJECT PROPOSALS FOR FUND RAISING TO IMPLEMENT MeLDC WORKPLAN. ORGANISE A TRAINING ON E-LEARNING FOR THE STAFF OF THE MINISTRY. MOBILISE RESOURCE FOR COMPUTERS TO BE PROVIDED TO THE STAFF. MeLDC: THE WAY FORWARD
