This document outlines the request to form a study group dedicated to exploring industry interest and participation in the development of an analog/mixed-signal (AMS) extensions standard to IEEE Std. 1666, the "SystemC Language Reference Manual". The aim is to establish a standardized "SystemC AMS Language Reference Manual," similar to the VDHL-AMS (IEEE Std. 1076.1). With the recent release of the SystemC AMS 2.0 standard by Accellera Systems Initiative, we are calling on IEEE-SA members, including NXP Semiconductors and STMicroelectronics, to actively engage in this important initiative.

P1666.1 Study group request (1) • Request for a study group to examine industry interest and participation for analog/mixed-signal (AMS) extensions standard to IEEE Std. 1666, “SystemC Language Reference Manual” • Objective is to standardize the “SystemC AMS language reference manual” • Similar as for VDHL-AMS (IEEE Std. 1076.1) we envision the AMS language standard becoming a “dot 1” standard to IEEE1666
P1666.1 Study group request (2) • SystemC AMS 2.0 standard has been released by Accellera Systems Initiative in March 2013 • Standardization started in Open SystemC Initiative (OSCI) in 2006, now part of Accellera Systems Initiative • SystemC AMS standard development > 7 years • Anticipated industry interest and participation from the following IEEE-SA members: • NXP Semiconductors, STMicroelectronics, Fraunhofer IIS/EAS • Therefore we propose the creation of an entity based study group • Initial work of the study group: create PAR
