WSU Extension: Advancing Agricultural and Community Development in Washington State

Washington State University (WSU) Extension plays a vital role as a land-grant institution, integrating teaching, research, and extension to support agriculture and communities across the state. Through strategic partnerships with federal and state agencies, WSU Extension provides vital resources and knowledge to farmers, ranchers, and the public. With 54 offices spanning all 39 counties, the program supports over 70,000 youth annually and engages in diverse areas such as natural resource science, food safety, nutrition, and family development, ensuring practical applications of research on the ground.

Greetings from Dan Bernardo, Dean • WSU’s Land Grant University Mission – integrated teaching, research & extension • Partner with federal and state agencies to carry National Institute of Food and Agriculture initiatives • These partnerships enable a spectrum of service from lab and field research to practical applications on farms, ranches and communities.
