Osteoporosis Audit: Evaluating Treatment and DEXA Scans in Females 65+

This audit, led by Dr. David Shutt, assesses osteoporosis management in females aged 65-74 and 74+ with fragility fractures over the past year. The aim is to determine the number of patients who have undergone DEXA scans and are receiving treatment with bone sparing agents. Results showed minimal DEXA scans and treatment in the 65-74 age group, while a few were on treatment in the 74+ category. Changes implemented include contacting patients for review, and future plans involve following guidelines and a re-audit in 12 months.
