  5. How does it all work together? Our goal is to fully implement the statewide trauma system in order to reduce the number of trauma incidents, preventable deaths, reduce the severity of trauma-related disability, and to make sure that all Texas trauma victims receive the best care possible. We also assist hospitals and EMS Agencies ensure they are prepared to respond to a bioterrorism attack or a wide-scale natural disaster.

  6. Intermedix - EMSystem EMResourceis an Internet based communication tool that enables access to real-time information on provider capability and capacity to authorized users. EMResource may be used to communicate important information, such as health alerts, disaster drills, and other events simultaneously and consistently to the appropriate users. EMTrack supports the tracking of people and associated pets, property and equipment. Response and support teams can effectively track, coordinate, and manage patient or individual movements throughout the continuum of care including at the scene, transport, destination, discharge and promote the family reunification process. Hospital-ICS is an industry recognized organizational chart that clearly defines a chain of command to assist hospitals in managing their staff in the event of disaster. WebEOC is a Web-Enabled incident management system. WebEOC enables users to manage multiple incidents and daily events, assign and track missions and tasks, provide situation reports, manage resources, and prepare Incident Command System (ICS) and Incident Action Plan (IAP) reports.

Most Common Events MCI • EMS will alert for an MCI whenever there are 5 or more patients being transported from one scene. • The request will be for a total of RED/YELLOW/GREEN • The total should represent the total number of each category your ED can manage. • Due to the urgency, each hospital has 5 minutes to acknowledge and 10minutes to update. Bed Availability • Types of events requiring a bed availability (evacuation, state requirement, etc.) • The request will be for a total of bed availability on the units (Med/Surge, Pedi, etc.) • Total total should represent the number of total patients each unit can receive. • The report itemizes each unit for a bed availability count.
