Sir Gawain • Played by Viggo Mortensen • About Gawain… • Characteristics • Brave, chivalrous, can be selfish and dishonest. • Hopes • Not to be killed by the Green Knight. • Not to give in to Lady Bercilak’s advances. • Appearance • Strong and muscular. • About Viggo… • In his role as Aragorn in The Lord of the Ringsseries of movies he showed his ability to play a knight-like character, his ability to play in a medieval timeframe, and his swordsmanship.

Lady Bercilak • Played by Angelina Jolie • About Lady Bercilak… • Characteristics • Cunning, seductive, appealing, insistent. • Hopes • To test Sir Gawain’s morality and loyalty. • Appearance • Fair skin, very beautiful, desirable. • About Angelina… • In her previous movie she played the supportive wife that helped her husband fight crime in Mr. and Mrs. Smith, just like Lady Bercilak aids her husband in his challenge against Gawain. • In the movie, Salt, she played a seductive fugitive who would use mind games to get what she wants, just like Lady Bercilakdoes to Gawain.

Sir Bercilak/The Green Knight • About Sir Bercilak… • Characteristics • Warm, hospitable, generous, challenging. • Appearance • Tall, strong, intimidating, has a bushy beard. • About Bruce Banner/The Hulk… • Dr. Banner transforms into his alternate form as the Incredible Hulk due to his super powers. This is a good parallel to how Sir Bercilak turns into the Green Knight because of the magic of Morgan le Fay. This shows Bruce’s experiences in filling a double role. • Played by Bruce Banner/The Hulk
