Some historical observations • EuroGeographics EuroSpec programme initiated: 2002 (?) • INSPIRE directive text by the EC: 2004 (?) • EuroGeographics Expert Group on Distributed Services Architecture (DSA) established: October 2004, kick-off meeting January 2005 • INSPIRE Implementation Rules Drafting team kick-off meeting: October 2005 • INSPIRE directive: June 2007 • DSA activities closed: Fall 2007 • Discovery and View Service IR drafts released to SDICs/LMOs: December 2007

  6. Distributed Services Architecture EG • The primary objective of the Distributed Services Architecture Expert Group is to develop and oversee the establishment and maintenance of a controlled technical services architecture to support the locating, access and delivery of “EuroSpec” based data.
