What is the Learning Center? • A classroom center to help students with their school assignments and tests. • Access to 10 computers • Staffed with • 1-2 teachers a period • 2 paraeducators a period • Student tutors • Adult tutors • Textbooks for each class subject • Assignments for many class subjects

  3. Who is the Learning Center for? All 9th grade students in all subjects. Classes where Freshman struggle the most there will be a para contacting the teacher to get classwork to stay in the center and ask for classroom supports. Students are to be sent to the Learning Center for academics, not behavior.

  4. How can a student access the Learning Center? • Students can come to the Learning Center during their class period and tutorial. • Pass procedure: • Students will ask for a pass or teachers will assign a pass • Students will be sent back to class if they do not have a pass • An email will be sent to let the classroom teacher know that the student has arrived at the learning center. • Groups larger than 4 students please call ahead or make arrangements.

  5. Learning Center Rules • Students must arrive with a pass • Students must check-in • Students must have work with them or know what task they need to complete • 3 strikes and they are outfor misbehavior • Strike 1 – Warning and sent back to class • Strike 2 – Warning, sent back to class, and student is given a Learning Center contract for use • Strike 3 – Student will not be allowed to access the learning center for 1 month.
