George W. Carver, born in Diamond Grove, Missouri, in 1864, was a pioneering agricultural scientist and educator who transformed agricultural practices in the South. He earned his Master of Agriculture Degree in 1896 from Iowa State College and became a long-time faculty member at Tuskegee Institute. Carver is best known for his research with peanuts and sweet potatoes, developing numerous products and advocating for crop rotation. Despite his frail health, he also pursued art and cultivated a love for nature. He passed away on January 5, 1943.
