  4. Our People are our greatest assets Our Borough is rich in diversity Regeneration of place The majority of large local employers engage with health e.g North East Better Health at Work award. A strong history of partnership working across Teesside and the North East A continuing record of working with VCS We have much to be proud of…

People in our borough are healthier overall A significant decline in deaths from heart disease, stroke and cancer over the last 10 years Excellent early intervention and prevention programmes including: NHS Health Checks and cancer screening uptake well above England Average Key worker approach with families in crisis Response to welfare reform UNICEF Baby friendly and breastfeeding welcome Smoke Free Redcar and Cleveland Partnership approach to reducing excess winter deaths across the borough Management of Health Protection Issues We have much to be proud of…

  6. 35% of people in the 20% most deprived in England Life expectancy gap 13 years (men) 8.5 women Big Killers effect the most disadvantaged Smoking kills over 250 adults each year Emergency admissions are higher than national average including alcohol admissions Too many of our young people are not reaching their potential …and some significant challenges

  7. Mental wellbeing poor for some groups Levels of adult obesity (29%)higher than national average Breastfeeding rates amongst worst in England (52%/24%) 1:4 pregnant women smoke 27% of children living in poverty High levels of social isolation and loneliness …and some significant challenges
