Analysing communication techniques If we think about different communication styles we can adapt and improve our communication techniques…. Care practitioners work with people who have a variety of different needs. …and eliminate potential barriers. Their communication style needs to be adapted for each individual.
Communication awareness Care practitioners need to use the most appropriate form of communication to suit each person who uses the service. How could a care practitioner communicate with a hearing impaired person? How could a care practitioner communicate with a visually impaired person? How could a care practitioner communicate with a child with autism? Are some facial expressions universal? Using symbols. This symbol could represent mealtime. Using braille. Using sign language.
