  2. Lesson Objectives • To know what tourism is like in an MEDC? • To look at the effects of the package holiday. • To know why British tourists have a bad name in Spain.

  3. Starter Very few of your grandparents would have gone abroad on holiday when they were your age. Why was this? Where did they go instead? Why do we go abroad on holiday now? • Lets look at what has happened to Benidorm over the years. Turn to page 110 in Geog.3. Look at the two picture at the top of the page

  4. What has happened to Benidorm since the 1930’s Video clip

  5. Benidorm Has Benidorm’s image really changed? Watch part of the TV programme Benidorm and decide if they are showing what it WAS or IS like. What groups of people are they making fun of?

  6. After watching the programme • Why do some British people go on holiday and want the same things as at home? • Are we giving the British a good or a bad reputation abroad? Is it everyone? • What would be your holiday heaven and holiday hell? Remember that we are all different!!
