  2. Wacky Packages!!! Wacky Packages are a series of trading cardsand stickers featuring parodiesof North American consumer products. These cards spoofed well-known brands and packaging, such as "Crust" (instead of Crest) toothpaste, "Blisterine" (instead of Listerine) and "Neveready" batteries (for Eveready batteries). The cards were produced by the Topps Company beginning in 1967, usually in a sticker format. A parody means to a spoof something, by means of humorous imitation.

  4. Assignment • You are to first pick an American consumer product that you would like to parody. Example such as "Crust" (instead of Crest) toothpaste, "Blisterine" (instead of Listerine) and "Neveready" batteries (for Eveready batteries). • FOR HOMEWORK YOU NEED TO BRING IN A PICTURE OF YOUR AMERICAN CONSUMER PRODUCT!!! • Once you have picked out your American consumer product you must be very clever and figure out how to parody (spoof) this product, brainstorm playing with different types of wording. • With your ideas ready to go, you will begin by sketching a thumbnail of your idea for your parody on scratch paper. Once you have your thumbnail approved by me. You will begin by drawing your Wacky Card on 8 ½ x 11 black construction paper with colored pencils.
