  3. “Creating a Village is a mixture of taking what the community already offers and mixing it with yourour hopes and dreams for yourour future.”

  4. It’s not about duplicating what we already have!

  5. It’s Happening • Researched the Village Concept • Identified the need • Held three public meetings • Identified the community interest • Established steering committee • Developed data base • Communicated via E-mail and website

  6. It’s STILL Happening • Became members of the Village to Village Network • Began to identify gaps in services • Spoke to interested groups • Planned this organizing meeting • Filed for incorporation • Developing Board of Directors and By-laws

  10. We don’t have to start from scratch ! The Village to Village Network ….a clearinghouse peer to peer network that provides access to other villages and has created a tool kit to simplify the “Starting a Village” process.

  17. Resources and Needs Questions: What are the perceived needs of potential members and what gaps are there in services? Identify present services and programs that are available? What should the Village provide for members?
