  2. . Who we are?  The BI Klaipeda City Social Support Centre is a budgetary institution performing its activities from the year of 2000 as a separate legal entity.

  3. The main objective of the institution: To increase the possibilities for the Klaipeda city community members to live in decent conditions without derogation of their human dignity, provide social support to various groups of persons finding themselves in social exclusion.

  4. The Centre performs the following mainfunctions: • Provide information and counselling services to the Klaipeda city communities and persons about social support services; • Provide social help and day care services at home; • Provide meal for homeless, poor people and other persons from social risk groups and those who are in social exclusion, • Provide services with compensation technical equipment for disabled people; • Prepare documents for court decisions about personal care for elderly and disabled people;

  5. Organize and provide transport services for elderly and disabled people;. • Prepare and implement various programs and projects; • Organize social integration services for asylum seekers and refugees; • Organize different courses for staff of the Centre and social workers from social services offices form all Lithuania. In 2010 Centre have got name of methodical centre for social workers practice learning. • Collaborate with governmental, municipal, non-governmental and private institutions.

  6. Our clients: elderly, disabled, unemployed people,families and single person with very low income, pensioners, social risk groups, persons who returned from imprisonment, families bringing up children, Foreigners Granted Asylum and refugees.

Responsibilities and activities in the project To assist in organization of work group meeting in Klaipeda To organize seminars “Needs and integration opportunities for people with disabilities” in Klaipeda region To organize seminars “Promoting social integration of people with functional impairments by using Universal Design principles” in Klaipeda region
