Addressing Demographic Challenges in Hedmark and Dalarna: A Cross-Border Collaboration

Hedmark and Dalarna, two neighboring counties, share similar demographic challenges including aging populations, low birth rates, and longer life expectancy. Established as a Border Committee in May 2012, this initiative aims to address these issues through collaborative projects like mapping key demographic facts and hosting seminars. Vulnerable municipalities such as Folldal, Smedjebacken, and Engerdal are particularly focused on innovative practices to enhance community resilience. The project emphasizes learning and cooperation across Nordic countries to develop sustainable solutions for demographic change.
