  4. YEARBOOK CLUB NOTICE!!! • YEARBOOK CLUB IS CANCELLED WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY OF THIS WEEK!

  5. Smart’s has a new garden! • At the corner of the soccer field, a Rain Garden was created. It was made possible by a grants and donations of time from our community, including: • Mrs. Leslie Solitario, Sisler Stone, River’s Edge Landscape Loudoun County Department of Water Resources, • Loudoun Soil and Water Conservation District.

  6. RAIN GARDEN (continued) • A special thanks to: • To Mr. Krywcun’s 2nd block Tech Ed; • to Ms. Pien’s 2nd block 8th grade students; • to the SMMS Ecology Club • to sponsors Ms. Fillo, Mrs. Mejia, and Ms. Pien.

  7. Step Up Loudoun Youth Competition • This competition encourages middle school youth to identify an issue in their school, neighborhood or community, create a plan to address that issue, and implement the plan. • prizes -- $1000 grand prize to the top team. • For more information, see your counselor or visit the Step Up website at www.stepuploudoun.org.

  8. GET YOUR PHOTO IN THE YEARBOOK! • The yearbook staff needs your pictures!!! We need photos of: summer fun, sports, and 1st day of school! Go to :www.hjeshare.com Enter in school code : 13557 Deadline To Submit : Thursday October 31st See Ms. Hereford for details

  9. Fundraiser update • Lavender’s Fundraiser….    • On November 13th and 14th--come after school to pick up your items and draw from the cash envelopes.  •   The BMX Show will be November 20th • The Limo Lunch will be November 22nd

Multicultural Night • Bonjour, guten tag, hola, shalom • All interested students AND their families are invited to our Multicultural Night on Wednesday, November 13 at 6:30 • Bring a native dish of the country you are going to represent. • Please see Mrs. Luckett if you have questions and want further details!
