Working Definition • “Personalization refers to instruction that is paced to learning needs (i.e. individualized), tailored to learning preferences (i.e. differentiated),and tailored to specific interests of different learners. In an environment that is fully personalized, the learning objectives and content as well as the method and pace may all vary.”

West Virginia Exemplar Cabell County Schools Extended Learning Opportunities Lenora Richardson, Supervisor SorayaBoukhemis, HHS Graduate Cabell County’s goal to provide more individualized learning for students with varied interests and experiences evolved into the ELO project. The goal is to provide learning opportunities for students to achieve their potential and receive credit towards high school graduation that is earned online or in a non-traditional optional setting best meeting the individual learning needs and interests of the students.
