At the very beginning time of this event, Many International Space Agencies shown their will to give EO data assistance to China. • WGISS played important role in calling for such activities within very short time.
Every day, there are lot of EO data transferred to China from oversea space agencies. • Because of less communication and regulation to exchange such data • Different sensors (> 10) • Different production level • Different format • Different package methods and assistant files (metedat) • Different POCs in China • Different way to storage (OS, Software,Network,CA)

Principle of disaster data assistant --- The most important principle is fast!~ • Very short interested duration for data using. • fast deploying the data service system (within days!) • Any data can be useful to help find the information • welcome any data , paying less attention to the format/data level/metadata/sensor/service methods • fast automatic search system to locate the suitable data for application character and process tools.
Condition in this case • The main way to access such data is FTP sets • No metadata • No definition of directory and file names • No uniform access URL • No suitable authority control
It will be a big work to update it to be traditional Catalogue System • CEODE initiated two team to work for this work at same time • One with traditional method • One with grid method • Result: • Traditional team : 20 days, big budget • Grid team: 2 days, no budget
The technical approach of Grid resolution. • Data resource reconstruction (logically, not physically) • Based on SIG data grid node framework, using three standard SIG data node services • SIG data query service • SIG data access service • SIG data viewer service (not used this stage) • Data develop service is same as SIG data develop service • User portal modified from SIG data portal • Compatible with standard web service and OGC services

Capability of this system • Query with sensor, data provider, data format, data level, band type, geo-area, acquire time parameters • Return listed with uniformed format • Access with uniformed interface, with original network protocal (Via FTP) • Access original metadata file • Access quicklook image • Access data file
This work start from the morning of May 22 and closed at the later morning of May 24 • All work lasted 2 days • With the following tools development, this work is hope to finish within one day. • This service has been registered in GEOSS
Additioanl Application of This Technical Approche --GISTDA ASIAES grid portal
ASIAES Grid Portal • ASIAES is the project supported by GISTDA, with target as disaster EO data clearinghouse in ASIEN Area • The basic founctions of ASIAES system are metedata registartion and data search. • The techinical mode is web-service. The official protal is based on local metadata clearinghouse. • Our work is trying to add existing ASIAES data resource into Grid portal.
